Content edit done

I was in Wales for about a week and over that time the content edit of Abel's Trials was being done. Now i have the paper copy back with many a note scrawled on to it and am back onto word for general fiddling about and fixing mistakes.

The important part about editing as far as i can see is to not get offended. It may be hard sometimes for people to admit they are fallible, it is all too easy to write a story and think "Damn I'm good, how could this ever be improved on, I should share it with the people right now, this will outsell the freeking Bible I tell you!" Well maybe not in those exact words but you get my point, something you pour so much of your heart and time into is always going to be precious to you, even if you don't actively think it.

With editing you can sometimes see the changes and think, this person is wrong this bit is perfect, I explained everything to a tee, but you have to realise that when you have an image in your mind when your writing something down you will always see that image when you read it, even if that doesn't come across when anyone else reads it because you haven't put in quite enough to show what you mean. Or sometimes you know the changes are correct but you just feel bad about it showing the floors in your story that you worked so hard on, you just have to push that all aside and realise its all for the good of the story.
